Our tools work on your device

Every tool on UpdateMax runs entirely in your web browser. The passwords you generate and the text, JSON or links you enter are processed on your own device. They are never uploaded to our servers, stored by us, or shared with anyone.

Passwords are created with your browser's built-in secure random number generator. When you press Copy, the result goes to your device's clipboard and nowhere else.

Information we collect

Information you send us

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This information is used to keep the site running, secure and free of abuse. It is not used to identify you personally.

What we don't collect

We don't have user accounts, we don't ask for your name, address or phone number, and we don't sell personal information.

Cookies and advertising

UpdateMax is free because it shows ads. We use Google AdSense to display them.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools will keep working, but ads may be less relevant.

Snapchat Web Plus Chrome extension

Our Chrome extension, Snapchat Web Plus, works only on web.snapchat.com. It does not read, collect, store or send your messages, photos or any personal data. The only thing it saves is one setting on your own device: whether the Privacy Shield is on or off. Snapchat Web Plus is independent and is not affiliated with Snap Inc.

Links to other websites

Our pages may link to other websites. We don't control those sites, and their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (Europe) and the CCPA (California) give you rights over your personal information, including the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Object to or restrict how it is used.
• Opt out of the sale of personal information. We don't sell personal information.

Because our tools don't collect what you enter, the only personal information we may hold is an email you sent us. To make a request, contact us and we'll reply within one month.

Children's privacy

UpdateMax is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add a new tool. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
